God Is Coming, pt. 15
- v. 1-5: The 144,000
- harkens back to Rev. 7
- Nine Characteristics of the 144,000
- sealed by God
- sing a new song
- purchased from the earth
- not defiled
- have not bent the knee to Antichrist
- so devoted to serving God that they don’t even marry
- follow the Lamb wherever He goes
- this is what God desires for us
- 2 Peter 1:3-4 – He has given us everything we need, not to be gods/God, but to be more like Christ
- firstfruits to God and to the Lamb
- beginning of a harvest of the Israelites
- Acts 2 – firstfruits of the Church at Pentecost
- no lie was found in their mouth
- were blameless
- were before the throne of God
- v. 6-7: Another Angel
- flying in midair
- has the Eternal Gospel
- preaching to those on earth
- EVERYONE on earth hears the message
- one more invitation to turn to God before it’s too late
- this is the heart of God – to mercifully give us grace to come to Him
- fear God
- worship Him
- He is the Creator
- v. 8: A Second Angel
- follows the 1st angel
- tells of the ungodly system of Babylon
- Babylon has been in the earth since Genesis 11
- now it has fallen
- is a system & a religion of worshiping false gods
- goal is to take the focus off the worship of God
- key word is MADE – deceived into it
- wine=intoxicating
- mob mentality: man wants to rebel & the devil will encourage that
- spiritual adultery against the Most High
- v. 9-11: A Third Angel
- warning to the earth
- take the mark & you will be subject to the full wrath of God
- God’s punishment is being filled up drop by drop with every iniquity committed on earth – it will be poured out full-strength
- will be tormented eternally in the Lake of Fire
- the smoke of their torment goes up forever & ever
- no rest day or night
- warning to the earth
- v. 12: The Patience of the Saints
- those who refuse the mark & stay true to God
- keep His commandments
- keep their faith in Jesus Christ
- v. 13: John Told to Write
- Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord
- will have rest, comfort, peace
- Huge contrast between the saints of the Living God & those who reject Him
- Luke 16 – Lazarus and the Rich Man
- Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord
- Endure & God will deliver you!
